LeeAnne crafts decorative and "useful" things out of fibre and paper. She started knitting obsessively over 20 years ago, and when her friends and family were saturated with scratchy, woolly, fluffy and lumpy garments, she turned her attention to paper. Rather than spending half her pay cheque on wool, she takes old cardboard boxes, used paper bags and already-read newspapers and gives them a second life. The process of gluing layers of little paper strips one on top of the other is meditative, the painting and decorating feels creative, and saving even a small amount of garbage from the landfill is satisfying.
